Gorilla Scare
Last week while watching my niece, Emma, she got a good scare. Dave has one of those gorilla costumes with the mask, hands and feet and saw the mask while we were in the baby's room. Emma was happily playing while Dave and I had been practicing a song he will be singing in a couple weeks when he found it. He thought it could be funny, so he pulled it on and kinda started dancing around. She didn't see him right away and even stood up while he was doing it...but she still had her head down. But then she looked up when he cleared his throat or something and she started screaming and ran out of the room and down the hallway. We're not talking a normal scream here, we're talking blood curdling, piercing scream that could wake the dead. My mom came racing up the stairs to see what the heck happened and Emma's now sobbing with a terrified expression. She talked about how Dave scared her for like 2 days and kept bringing up the monster head.
After telling my sister Laura, about this, she said it would be funny to do it to her girls. So, our cousin, James, was roped into it. After getting Emma out of the room (she had already been traumatized enough) James growled his way into the room with the gorilla mask on and scared Kaitlin, Kinsie and Kourtney. Kinsie is always good for a scare...she's the one who like runs and shrieks. Kourtney just gets sad (thus her pitiful "You scared me" to James). This is what James looked like with the mask on, and it is followed by a video of the event...
