Job update
Just wanted to let you all know the most recent news with Dave's work. He got called up to the office during his shift, which is either really good or really bad. The Manager asked him about a shift he had worked a couple days prior. She asked if he remembered helping a woman find her wallet, to which he said he didn't remember that. She then says that this woman was very upset with the way she was treated and said Dave had huffed about helping her find her wallet and when it was finally found, she was missing a large sum of money. The manager then says that the woman was so upset she not only called and talked to the managers, but even filed a complaint with the corporate office. The whole time, Dave was trying to remember the woman, but could only remember helping someone finding a cell phone. He explained he did find a jacket that had some money in the pocket, but he turned it in immediately to guest services. The manager then says, "well, we've all discussed it and there's only one thing that we can do about this...... we're going to have to make you a lead."
Apparently, it was all an initiation. So...Dave starts Friday as a lead. It's not a huge pay increase, but it is an increase. It also means he is now eligible to become an Assistant Manager, so if he ends up being there longer than planned (which has technically already happened) he at least has the opportunity to keep moving up.
In other news, Dave has his first interview with Orange PD tomorrow. He met with a guy who used to sit on the Oral Interview panel and he gave him some pointers and walked him through a few things. Sooo... we're pretty excited and hopeful for this interview.
