Career Update

Just thought I'd give an update on our career status... Dave is currently in the testing process with 4 departments. He passed the written and the physical agility for the City of Downey PD, but due to scheduling problems, the interviews have been postponed, so we're waiting to see what happens with that. He passed the initial screening for the LAXPD (airport police) and just needs to schedule a testing day. For the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department he has passed the written and is taking the physical agility test tomorrow morning, and since he hasn't had any problems with any of the previous physical tests, we should be scheduling an interview soon with them. Last Saturday he took the written and physical agility for the City of Orange PD and passed and they have already called to schedule his interview which is in 2 1/2 weeks. Orange PD has a lot of LDS cops, so we're not worried about them thinking he's too straight-laced like Riverside County did. Overall we're just trying to stay positive and not stress too bad with all the preparation that goes into these testing processes. Dave has been going on 6-10 mile bike rides and usually stops halfway to run two miles around the high school track. He only has 20-30 pounds left to lose to be in his ideal weight range, so by the time he starts an academy he will be in tip-top shape.
